Manhattan Community Board No. 1
Community Board #1 (CB #1) is one of New York 's 59 community boards 
and serves as an advisory body with a formal role designated by the City   
Charter in such matters as land use, determining local budget priorities and   
monitoring City service delivery. 
Community Board #1 has 50 members who live or work in Lower Manhattan.  
Members are appointed by the Manhattan Borough President and our local 
City Council member.  Community Board #1 has established various .
committees which focus on specific issues relevant to Lower Manhattan 
and on the different neighborhoods within the Community Board #1 District. 
Committee and full Board meetings are held monthly, and these meetings 
are open to the public.

Gateway Plaza Tenants Association
Represents the approximately 4,000 residents of the more than 1700 units of 
Gateway Plaza, the closest residential neighbor to the WTC site in Battery 
Park City.

Battery Park City Homeowners Coalition
Represents the unit owners of the eleven condominium buildings in Battery 
Park City: more than 2,300 families. The Coalition is made up of 
representatives from the Boards of Managers of each of the eleven buildings.

Chinese Staff and Workers Association (CSWA)
Identifies and provides comprehensive health care to low-income, immigrant 
and/or uninsured residents and workers of lower Manhattan who suffered 9/11 
health effects, particularly asthma and other ailments. This collaborative 
project also provides culturally sensitive activities and support networks for 
the community.
