Heroic Choices
This organization aims to “build resiliency in children” who have suffered as a result of a trauma. Children will attend a year-long

New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene Website
New York City has launched a comprehensive new website that offers the latest information about 9/11 health and services. The
“one-stop shopping” website makes it much easier for New Yorkers who were exposed to the collapse of the World Trade Center
find the free medical treatment and resources they need to get better. Health Commissioner Thomas Frieden, MD, MPH speaks
about what we know about 9/11 physical and mental health problems. The website also includes easily accessible health research
findings about the different groups of people who were affected by the disaster: rescue and recovery workers, residents, children,
city employees and others.

This program supports and assists 9/11 victims and survivors who are Pennsylvania residents, as well as all family members of

The Rockland Assistance Center
The Rockland Assistance Center is a resource which provides comfort and assistance to Rockland County residents affected by 9/11.

The Silver Shield Bereavement Program
This program, co-sponsored by the Chevron Texaco Foundation and September 11th Children’s Foundation, offers free evaluations and
bereavement treatment services to widows and children of firefighters, police officers, and Port Authority and EMS workers who were
lost on 9/11. The services are provided by the New York University Child Study Center.

Tuesday's Children

The Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund provides aid and scholarships to the families of World Trade Center victims who worked in the food,
beverage and hospitality professions throughout the entire complex. It offers a number of scholarships and educational programs, including
English as Second Language instruction and job training. Legal services, financial counseling, and grief counseling are also available.
