The September 11th Widows and Victims Families’ Association, Inc.
a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization supports victims of terrorism and
their families through education, communication and peer support.

The Tribute WTC Visitor Center, a program of the Association, connects and
educates visitors with personal experiences of terrorism.  Programs,
exhibitions, and tours lead by volunteers who experienced the effects of
terrorism first hand convey personal and varied perspectives and
inspirational acts of generosity.  Programs inspire understanding and
compassion among cultures.
Your 100% tax-deductible gift to the annual fund will help ensure programs
that educate future generations. Gifts to the Annual Fund are also a
wonderful way to honor or memorialize someone. We will acknowledge your
contribution with a note informing the family member or friend you designate.
Contributions of $500 or more are acknowledged in the Association’s annual
list of donors.

Memorial & Honor Contributions

You can make contributions in honor or memory of friends, family members
or loved ones. To do so, either donate online or mail your gift to the
address above. If you contribute via mail, please include the names and
address of the individual to be notified of your donation.

Matching Gifts

To promote charitable giving, many companies match their employees’ gifts
to nonprofit organizations. If your company has a matching gift program,
your contribution to the Association can be generously increased and will
further support the Association’s mission. Simply request a matching gift
form from your employer, complete the donor section, and send it along
with your contribution.

Donate Securities
We accept gifts of stock. It's a simple process. Next to cash, appreciated
securities that are readily marketable are the assets most commonly donated
to the Association. When you donate appreciated securities, you generally
do not realize any capital gains tax. If you itemize your federal income
deductions, you may also receive a federal income tax charitable
deduction (up to 30% of your AGI with a five-year carryover) for the
security's full fair market value if you have held it long-term (i.e., for
longer than twelve months). If the donated securities were held
short-term (i.e., twelve months or less), only your cost basis is
deductible. Because of the potential double tax savings, a gift of
appreciated securities usually has a lower after-tax cost than an
equivalent gift of cash.

Planned Giving

Planned giving and bequests are essential to ensuring that we will continue
to serve the September 11th community and to educate visitors. Please call
1-212-422-3520 ext 117 for information regarding planned giving and bequests.
Members and friends may support the Association in a number of ways. The
giving opportunities range from gifts of cash and securities to life income
gifts and sophisticated estate-planning vehicles that have favorable financial
and tax benefits.
The term "planned giving" refers to any major gift that
involves financial or estate planning. Such gifts can provide important
benefits both to you and to the Association. The different types of planned
gifts include bequests, life income plans (charitable gift annuities and
charitable remainder trusts),charitable lead trusts and gifts of life insurance
policies.
