European Day for the Victims of Terrorism
Tuesday 11 March 2008 is the fourth European Day for the victims of terrorism.
We use this opportunity to once again express our continued and deeply felt solidarity with all victims of terrorist attacks.
We are united with the families and loved ones of the victims, and we recall our joint commitment to assist them whenever and wherever
we can.
The Commission has demonstrated its support for the victims of terrorism, in particular through financial assistance to numerous projects
intended to help victims and their relatives as well as to promote solidarity among European citizens.
This day should also be used to demonstrate our unwavering support for the democratic values and human rights that we share across
Europe.
No terrorist act can ever undermine our common belief in these rights and principles. There can never be a justification for terrorist acts.
These are Franco Frattini´s words with occasion of the fourth European day for the victims of terrorism, and in support of the virtual
homage developed by the European Network of Victims of Terrorism.

EMERGENCY
RALLY FOR 9/11 HEALTH
Dear
9/11 Responders and Family Members,
A critical event is coming up in the next few weeks and we are asking YOU to participate:
What: Emergency Rally for 9/11 Health
When: Monday February 25, 2008
Where: The United States Capitol, Washington, DC
Who: Organized by the FealGood Foundation & 9/11 Health Now
The time is NOW. In the six years since September 11th, the 9/11 Community has become increasingly desperate. More people
have fallen sick, friends and loved ones have died, entire families have been torn apart by the 9/11 Health Crisis, which is only
worsening as time goes on. Consider the following recent developments:
• The government just cut 9/11Health Care funding by 77%. A paltry $25 million was designated for fiscal year 2009, down
from $108 million in 2008. This means every program in existence (including Mt. Sinai) will be operating on a budget that is less
than one-fourth of what it was previously.
• This past December 2007, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Michael Leavitt canceled plans for the World Trade Center
Business Process Center. This center was designed to provide treatment for the 10,000-plus First Responders who reside outside
the New York metropolitan area, many of whom are seriously ill.
• The 9/11 Health & Compensation Act (aka the James Zadroga bill) has still not been passed. This hugely important piece of
legislation that would help all 9/11 families has been ignored within Congress for years now--it is time to speak up to to get it
passed!
The above developments are too important to let slide. We need everyone to show up and speak up, so that relief will come to
the 9/11 Community at last. We CAN change the face of 9/11 Health--But we need YOUR HELP to do it:
We need a LARGE GROUP of 9/11Families to make the trip. (Transportation and accommodation are provided at no charge).
We need Responders, wives, husbands, kids--ANY 9/11 family member who wants to make a difference!
We are shooting for minimum 2 bus-loads.... The more people who show up, the more presence we will have on Capitol Hill...
More details and an itinerary will follow soon, but we are putting the word out now, in order for people to organize. In brief:
Departure (from the NY/LI/NJ area): Sun. February 24th
Overnight stay
Mon. February 25th: Speeches, Press Conference, other activities
Return: Monday February 25th (evening)
Many thanks for considering this all-important mission... Please respond as soon as possible to one of the following parties,
in order that we may finalize trip details:
John Feal, FealGood Foundation, 631-724-3320 email: feal13@aol.com.
Anne Marie Baumann, FealGood Foundation, 516-551-0986 email: ar1cb2@verizon.net.

Infinite Thanks to All. TOGETHER, we WILL change the face of 9/11 Health...

Many contemporary artists use craft to make diverse and timely political statements. Because craft is so often social and communal,
these artists can play a vital role in the public sphere. Speakers examine the role of craft in forming national identities, especially in times
of political turmoil or war; notions of patriotism; feminism and the domestic sphere; and unconventional economic models. Four artists
will discuss their work. The discussion will be followed by various activities including collective artistry.
Panelists include Liz Collins, artist/designer; Sabrina Gschwandtner, artist/curator; Cat Mazza, artist/activist; and Allison Smith, visual artist.
Moderator: Julia Bryan-Wilson, art historian and critic, University of California at Irvine.
This lecture is co-sponsored by Modern Painters and Artists & Audiences Exchange, a public program of the New York Foundation
for the Arts.
