Eligibility: The purpose of the fund is to provide immediate resources to the children of New Jersey who lost a parent or guardian on September 11th. Applications from families in which a parent or guardian was severely and permanently injured will also be accepted.

In order to be eligible for DFCNJ grants, the family must have at least one child under the age of 18 (including children conceived but not yet born). Children between the ages of 18 and 22 can also be supported by DFCNJ if the child has special needs or is enrolled in a post-secondary educational program (a four-year college or university, community college, or technical school). Families with children who are over the age of 18 and who are not enrolled in an educational program are not eligible. The application should be filled out and signed by the closest adult relative to the child(ren) in need, preferably the surviving parent or guardian.

Amounts: Families can request up to six weeks of essential cash flow needs.

Other Information: To receive gifts from the DFCNJ, a one-page application form needs to be completed which will provide basic information about the child(ren) in need and the families supporting them. The following verification information needs to be included with the application form:

  • A copy of at least one child's birth certificate
  • If the child is in a post-secondary educational program (four-year college or university, community college or technical school), provide a copy of the most recent tuition bill
  • If the child is not yet born, state due date, and provide name and phone number of family physician

Eligibility: The purpose of the Fund is to provide support for victims of the September 11th tragedy and their families. The first priority will be to provide support to the victims who worked for Morgan Stanley and their families. Support will also go to firefighters, police and emergency medical personnel who worked so tirelessly and successfully on their behalf.

Other Information: Initially aiding survivors of Morgan Stanley colleagues that were lost and looking for help in managing their funds.

Eligibility:The purpose of the World Trade Center Relief Fund is to assist the families and dependents of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. This fund is for the benefit of all victims both injured and deceased, including innocent civilians, the dedicated firefighters, policemen, Port Authority officers, Emergency Medical Personnel and relief workers.

Eligibility: Provide financial support through scholarships, apprenticeships, internships, work-study programs, and work training programs to the children directly affected by the terrorist act at the World Trade Center in New York City, including American Airline Flight 11 and United Flight 175, The Pentagon in Washington, DC, including American Flight 77 and the United Airline flight 93 crash in Sommerset County Pennsylvania on September 11, 2001; and to conduct any and all lawful activities which may be useful in accomplishing the foregoing purposes.

Children of US citizens, naturalized US citizens and/or green card holders whose parent, parents or legal guardian worked in custodial or service oriented positions will be given the highest priority unless other can show greater need either financially and/or emotionally (special needs included). All children who lost a parent(s) or legal guardian or has a parent(s) or legal guardian who is permanently disabled as a direct result of the terrorist act is also eligible for benefits. Children affected in foreign lands whose foreign national parent(s) or legal guardian were present are also eligible for benefits but will not be given priority over and above American children unless extreme need is shown.
